A minion is a follower devoted to serve his/her master relentlessly.

In Despicable Me, these Minions are not just mere followers of their master, Gru. They are the most notable characters in the film. People simply can’t resist their cuteness. Smaller in size compared to humans, yellow, almost cylinder-shaped and have either one or two eyes are their apparent physical characteristics.
The boisterous bunch of simple-minded artificial homunculi are quite useful as glow sticks if you are stuck in the dark. Besides that, their height, number of eyes, body roundness, hair, pupil size and clothing become features to distinct one minion with the others.
The way they communicate is through very basic language which of course we humans won’t understand but we find this strange jabber fairly acceptable, interesting and perky. Occasionally, we do realize they repeat some simple English words when human talk to them particularly their master. Conversation is less then actions- actions are usually in an exaggeration mode.
The popularity of Minions are gradually increasing, thus you will probably see some products related to Despicable me’s Minions on the market. Innovation never ends…
There are more…
Unlike most other criminal masterminds, Gru appreciate the minions’ loyalty, hard work and support. He can actually remember the names of the minions. We thank you people who have created such lovely creatures, of course we will never see them in reality but it will always remain as a good fantasy for audiences.
They are the official mascots for Illumination Entertainment. Minions love bananas and apples and the mere sight of one of these fruits can result in complete chaos. They enjoy fine arts and the things they do are always extremely funny. They are completely unconscious of their own humour but frankly speaking, they have ultimate curiosity- especially when they encounter something new in a place that they have not been to. Hyperactive like kids but people still love them.
